The “Israeli” aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque is a violation of all red lines

Last night, Friday, May 7, 2021, “Israeli” forces have stormed Al-Aqsa mosque and assaulted worshipers without any regard for the sanctity of the mosque or of the holy month of Ramadan. This dangerous aggression left more the 200 injuries among worshipers, some of them in serious condition.

The serious escalation in Al-Aqsa mosque coincides with an “Israeli” plan to evacuate the neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah, displace its Palestinian residents, and bring in extremist Jewish settlers of the likes of the Kahanist Itamar Ben Gvir.

Regarding these dangerous events, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wants to highlight the following points:

• First, Al-Aqsa mosque has a unique position in the hearts of all Palestinians and Muslims, therefore, the “Israeli” assault is a clear provocation of all Muslims all over the world.
• Second, the ongoing “Israeli” assaults against Al-Aqsa mosque threaten to ignite a religious war in the whole region.
• Third, we warn of the spread of the escalation to other regions, such as West Bank and Gaza Strip, if “Israel” continued its violations against Jerusalem and its people.
• Forth, we warn of “Israel” attempts to export its internal problems by the escalation of aggression against Palestinian people.
• Fifth, we call for immediate action by the international community to stop the hostile policies and settlement plans of “Israel”, especially in Sheikh Jarrah.
• Sixth, we demand brotherly Arab countries, and the free people of the world, to cut off the relations with “Israel” immediately.
• Seventh, we call our people everywhere, and the free people of the world to protest in solidarity with Jerusalem and its people.

Finally, we send our best greeting to the steadfast people of Jerusalem and commend their stance in the face of “Israeli” aggression.
