The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza is grateful for the Virginia court’s decision about preventing the handover of the Palestinian Professor Abdel Halim Al-Ashqar to the Israeli occupation, resulted to return AL-Ashqar to the United States after the decision.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered this decision a victory for the Palestinian rights to face injustice and oppression practiced by the occupation against the Palestinians in their places inside or outside the occupied Palestine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called free people around the world to interfere immediately to liberate the Professor Al-Ashqar and support the Palestinians and stand beside them until getting independence and build their state.

From the first moment of the attempt to hand over Al-Ashqar to Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs followed through a series of contacts with regional and international parties to stop this contravention, which is contrary to international and humanitarian law.
