MOFA Warns of Aggravating Humanitarian Suffering as Aggression Continues
May 10, 2023; 13:00
The “Israeli” occupation still continues its aggression on the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied West Bank. This morning, Wednesday, May 10, the occupation forces stormed Jenin and murdered in cold blood two young Palestinians. It also bombed a group of farmers east of Khan Younis, killing a Palestinian and severely wounding another, which increases the death toll of the aggression since yesterday morning to 18 martyrs, including 4 children and six women, in addition to the destruction of 11 houses and partially damaging 166 others.
The aggression didn’t stop at bombing civilian houses and murdering women and children while asleep in their beds, dreaming of a better future like the rest of the world’s children, but also included the closure of Beit Hanoun crossing in the faces of 142 patients, mostly cancer cases, who were in their way to receive medical treatment in the hospitals of West Bank, Jerusalem, and Occupied Palestine of 1948, in a shameful moral and legal crime.
Over the course of 17 years, the Gaza Strip has been subject to strict blockade and repeated aggression, which led to extremely dangerous economic, social, and humanitarian conditions. In light of the ongoing aggression for the second day, we warn of aggravating humanitarian crises due to the closure of the crossings and preventing the entry of the necessary medical equipment and disposals.
We renew our call to the international community to stand up to its legal and moral responsibilities towards the crimes committed by the occupation against our defenseless people and warn of attempts by the terrorist “Netanyahu” to appease the far-right led by the extremist “Ben Gvir” on the expense of the blood of our women and children. We also demand bringing the criminal “Netanyahu” and the members of his government to justice for committing war crimes and bragging of murdering innocent children, women, and elderly people.
