MOFA Values the Efforts of the Participatory Legislative Committee in The Brazilian Chamber of Deputies to Advocate for Jerusalem

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza followed the public hearing held by the Participatory Legislative Committee of the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies on April 29, 2023, which discussed the violations and violence practiced by the Israeli occupation against Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalemites, based on a proposal from the Brazilian-Palestinian Institute (IBRASBAL), and chaired by Federal Deputy “Leonardo Montero” and in the presence of a number of Brazilian Federal Deputies.

The Ministry appreciates this brave humanitarian and political step taken by the supporters of the Palestinian cause in the State of Brazil and extends its gratefulness and gratitude to every party that participated in this session. It also calls on the State of Brazil to exert more efforts with its allies in the International Community to ensure the presence of the Palestinian cause in international institutions meetings and put pressure on the Israeli occupation to end its continuous violations against the Palestinians in the city of Jerusalem and the other occupied and besieged Palestinian territories. We would like to express our appreciation as well to His Excellency Ambassador João Genésio de Almeida Filho for his splendid intervention at the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Palestine.

The Ministry calls on Brazil to hold more activities and events that would expose the crimes of the Israeli occupation in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the Nakba, which resulted in the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land at the hands of the barbaric and brutal Zionist gangs. Finally, we would like to express our deep gratitude to the government and people of Brazil, wishing them prosperity and success in their endeavors.
