Israeli settlers and extremists, accompanied by the occupation forces, continue their blatant attacks on the Palestinians praying in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as trying to deny them their right to worship. Since the dawn of Wednesday, April 5, 2023 AD, the occupation authorities expelled and dispersed the worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as more than 500 of them were arrested, while more than 200 others were injured.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounces these ongoing systematic attacks against the Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque. the ministry considers them a serious violation of the most basic principles of human rights, especially with regard to the practice of worship. It also considers it a persistence in the policy of apartheid and a reinforcement of the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as a persistence in the policy of Judaizing and obliterating Islamic monuments in Al-Aqsa Mosque and emptying Jerusalem of its original inhabitants, and a desperate attempt by the Israeli government to escape from its political crises by attacking the Palestinians.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on our brothers in the Arab countries to stand by the oppressed Palestinian people and fully support them, especially in light of the occupation’s disavowal of all its previous pledges, including its recent pledges regarding calming the situation in the month of Ramadan. We also call on our Arab brothers to cut their relations with the Israeli occupation, which, , until this moment, failed to demonstrate moral responsibility towards the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also calls on the international community and the free people of the world to abide by their legal and moral responsibilities towards Jerusalemites and to work to force the Israeli occupation to stop its Judaizing policies aimed at changing the Arab and Islamic character of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem. furthermore, such Israeli violations completely contradicts the principles of international law, especially what is stipulated in Articles 18 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, as the time has come for the international community to find a solution to the ongoing violations against the Palestinians in conjunction with this world’s claim to call for democracy and human rights.
