Press Release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 15 years of Gaza Blockade

This June coincides with 15 years of Gaza Blockade, the longest and most barbaric blockade in modern human history. The blockade is one of the worst forms of collective punishment practiced by the occupation, as it deeply affects the lives of women, children, elderly people, patients, people with special needs, and other vulnerable groups of our people. This blockade has caused endless crises in all aspects of life and led to a terrifying increase in the rates of poverty, employment, and lack of hope.

In front of this human suffering that is ongoing for more than 15 years, we renew our demand for the international community to stand up to its responsibilities and end the blockade of more than 2.2 million people. The blockade of Gaza for this long period of time will always be a disgrace to all humanity, a disgrace than can’t be removed without endless efforts to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes and end the blockade once and for all.
