The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza condemns in the strongest terms the assassination of Palestinian journalist “Shireen Abu Akleh” by occupation forces in Jenin this morning.

This hideous crime is part of constant attempts by the occupation to terrorize journalists and silence the voice of truth while escalating aggression towards our people in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

We call on the international community to hold the occupation accountable for this horrible crime and ensure the protection of journalists while covering the violations of the occupation.
