On behalf of the Palestinian government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed on Sunday, Feb 19, 2023, a MoU with government and private Malaysian organizations to offer scholarships to Gaza Strip.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mahmoud El-Madhoun, Directoer-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Esam Yousef, Chief Coordinator of Miles of Smiles; Dr. Sani Arabi Al-Qaheri, representative of MAPIM Malaysia; and Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Bin Kamaruzaman, representative of MyAqsa Defenders.

El-Madhoun stated that this MoU will increase the number of Malaysian scholarships offered to government employees and college students in the Gaza Strip, expressing his gratitude to the sponsoring organizations of the MoU.

On his side, the representative of MyAqsa Defenders, Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Bin Kamaruzaman, said that the MoU will positively contribute to the capacity building of government employees in the Gaza Strip, indicating that the scholarships will be offered by the top five Malaysian Universities.

In the end, the Chief Coordinator of Miles of Smiles, Dr. Esam Yousif, thanked MAPIM and MyAqsa Defenders for this initiative, promising to bring such delegations on a regular basis to serve both Palestine and Gaza Strip in particular.
