The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza Strip honored the members of “Miles of Smiles” convoy who recently entered the Strip through the Rafah Crossing and granted them the Certificate of Goodwill Ambassadors for Palestine.
The counselor, Marwan Hammad, who is the officer-in-charge of the Under-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Gaza stated, “Organizing an honoring celebration for the 36 members of the “Miles of Smiles” convoy was out of respect and appreciation for those who left their families behind and suffered the hardships of travel for the sake of families in Gaza.”
The counselor, Hammad, clarified that during the last couple of days, the members of the delegation have suffered just like Gazans have, especially through the Israeli aggression, which made it necessary to grant them the Certificate of Goodwill Ambassadors to represent Palestine in international congregations.
On his part, Issam Yousef, head of the Miles of Smiles convoy said, “We were surprised by the Israeli crimes, which have destroyed civilians’ homes, charitable institutions and the press, which is evidence that the occupation disregards the international and humanitarian laws and must be held accountable.”
He added, “We, the Miles of Smiles convoy, have taken a pledge to always stand by Gaza and have declared our motto to bring Gaza to the world, and to bring the world to Gaza.”
On his part, Qasim Ahmad, one of the participants in the convoy, pointed out that he has visited Gaza ten years ago, and that he considers visiting Gaza a duty, emphasizing that all the Muslims of the world stand by Gaza.
