The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns, in strongest terms, the “Israeli” plans to demolish 28 homes in Al-Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood, in Jerusalem, and build a new settlement in its place.
The “Israeli” step, which threatens to turn 500 Palestinians into homeless people, is part of a larger policy of ethnic cleansing, which aims at driving the Palestinians out of Jerusalem and imposing complete “Israeli” control over the city.
Occupation authorities seek, through these settlement projects, to impose a fait accompli situation on the international community, and prevent the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls upon the international community, the Arab and Islamic countries to stand up to its responsibilities towards the city of Jerusalem, and to put an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the residents of the city.
