The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza appreciated attitude of the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) toward occupied Jerusalem, and thank the members who support this decision.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) renewed in a new decision today that Israeli  is occupying of Jerusalem, The members of UNESCO Executive Council voted for confirming the organization previous decisions regarding Israel as an occupier of  Jerusalem, The  decision  was passed by 22 votes, against 10, and the remaining countries abstained

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered that  the confirmation that Jerusalem is an occupied area by Israeli as a confirmation of the Palestinian historical, religious and legal right in Jerusalem .

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign  Affairs confirmed  that this decision represents a victory for the Palestinian right despite the great pressures exercised by the Israeli occupation state on the members in UNESCO.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs  calls all international and regional organizations to stand up to their historical, humanitarian and moral responsibilities toward the Jerusalem and the Palestinian issue,in order to stop the Israeli occupation  and Judaization operations which happened by Israeli  authorities all the time to wipe out the Arab and Islamic identity of the city of Jerusalem.
