Fascist Right-Wing Government Plays with Fire and Drives Region to Edge

The far-right government, led by “Netanyahu, continues its racist practices toward the Palestinian people. In the aftermath of the Security Cabinet meeting last night, the extremist government decided to pursue the policy of collective punishment against the families of attackers and decided a series of vindictive steps, including the demolition of their houses, depriving them of social security and ID cards, and deportation of them abroad, in a flagrant violation of the most basic rights, and laws which clearly state that every individual must be held accounted for his own acts.

In a clear disregard for international law, the occupation government decided to promote settlement building in the occupied Palestinian Territories and speed up the granting of firearms licenses to settlers, a step that will lead to a major increase in settlers’ violence, and turn the region into a jungle. Even more dangerously, the occupation government decided a series of revengeful steps toward the Palestinian prisoners in “Israeli” jails, including cutting off electrical power, expropriating tools and appliances, and effectively isolating the prisoners from the outside world!

These decisions don’t only reveal the deeply-rooted racism in this government, but they are also an attempt to cover up the internal battle against the legal and judicial system and to end the ongoing protests against the racist policies of the government. In front of these facts, we in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs call upon the international community to stand up to its responsibilities and stop this fascist government, instead of denouncing the Palestinian reactions, which represent a natural and justified response to the racist policies of the occupation, and the deafening silence of the international community.
