The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a training meeting entitled “Emotional Intelligence and Self-Control while Dealing with the Public” on Thursday, the 1st of April, 2021.
The meeting was presented by an expert trainer in mental and social health. He deemed it necessary to distinguish between stress at home and at work in order to maintain mental balance and stability.
In the meeting, the trainer instructed the participating employees of various ministries on how to contain visitors even in times of anger and conflict, advising everyone to be patient and under control.
Moreover, he guided the employees to several ways of controlling one’s temper and anger, quoting the prophet (PBUH) who said, “When one of you becomes angry while standing, he should sit down. If the anger leaves him, well and good; otherwise he should lie down.”
The trainer encouraged the trainees to share their opinions and participate through a series of useful activities and fruitful discussions.
At the end of the meeting, the participants thanked the Foreign Ministry for organizing this meeting and acknowledged the significant role it has in improving the government work environment.
It is worth noting that this meeting has taken place within the “Forgery Detection and Managing Consular Certificates” course that the Foreign Ministry holds for the employees of various ministries to develop with the cadre in these ministries.
