MOFA Welcomes the Resumption of Support to Palestinian NGOs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza has received with pleasure the statement issued on July 12, 2022, by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden on the resumption of support to the six NGOs that were designated “terrorist” by the occupation state last October. In their statement, the states declared that the occupation state has not provided any evidence to support its false accusations.

As we welcome this step, we call the international community and the free states of the world to hold the occupation accountable for its flagrant violations against NGOs and human rights activists, including spying, breaching their privacy, and smearing their reputation. We need a firm stand to prevent the reoccurrence of these practices, ensure the safety of Civil Society Organizations, and grant human rights activists the right to work without the fear of political prosecution.
