The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted on Wednesday, Nov 24, the signing of a memorandum between the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Cinta Gaza Malaysia (CGM).

The signing ceremony was attended by the director-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mahmoud El-Madhoun, the under-secretary of Women’s Affairs Ministry Mrs. Amira Haron, and the CEO of Cinta Gaza Malaysia Muhammad Nadir Bin Kamaruzaman.

El-Madhoun thanked CGM and the Malaysian people for their role in supporting the Palestinian people over the recent years and called them to continue their support.

Mrs. Haron highlighted the role of CGM in supporting Palestinian women, besides their active participation in development projects, as they recently financed a development project with 212,000 USD.

According to Mr. Kamaruzaman, the memorandum will provide financial support for several projects that seek to empower Palestinian women, including the Loans Fund, the National Center for Women’s Studies, the Documentation of Palestinian Women’s Achievements, the Palestinian-Malaysian Cultural Exchange.

Both sides also agreed at organizing a visit by a delegation from the Ministry of Women’s Affairs to Malaysia in order to promote the collaboration in women’s issues.
