Occupation Escalates Aggression in Occupied West Bank & Jerusalem

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has followed with great concern the ongoing “Israeli” assaults against Al-Aqsa Mosque and Muslim worshipers. Over days, extremist Jewish settlers have performed, under the protection of “Israeli” police, provocative marches inside the Islamic mosque without any regard for the feelings of Muslims.

In an apparent manifestation of apartheid, the “Israeli” forces prevented Muslim worshipers below the age of Forty from entering Al-Aqsa and assaulted women and elderly worshipers inside the mosque. The very same forces accompanied Jewish settlers during their provocative marches and provided them with protection.

Parallel to these dangerous provocations, the occupation added fuel to the flames by storming Jenin camp with heavily armed forces, murdering four Palestinians, wounding dozens, and causing a massive state of panic and fear among children in schools and kindergartens.

In front of this alarming escalation, we warn of the consequences of these provocative actions on the security and stability of the region and call the international community to immediately interfere in order to protect the religious freedoms of the Palestinian people, preserve holy places in Jerusalem, and end the escalating “Israeli” assaults.
